Perpetual Motion

For those of you who have just started Graphics Design, maybe a college course, or just for your own personal use, really should scour Youtube for designers, my personal favourite designer is 'xperpetualmotion' also known as Karen Kavett.

Karen is a young designer who is interested in the Typography style way of designing, like myself. Here are some good videos of her design styles.

'How to learn GRAPHIC DESIGN' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHvMm4HgRCg
A few tips on how to start GD
and some great
book ideas.

As the title says this video
gives an intro to type
and how to use
them.

Again what the title
says.

Designer Fact File

Sanna Annukka:

(excert from his website bio)

"I’m a half Finnish, half English illustrator and print maker with a love for nature and folklore. Many a childhood summer was spent in Finland. Family trips beyond the Arctic Circle, camping in the nightless Lapland wilderness, hold some of my most treasured memories. The forests, lakes and wildlife of the region remains a constant inspiration. My personal work infuses nature, childhood memories and my love of storytelling and folklore.

I graduated with a BA Hons in Illustration from the University of Brighton in July 2005.

In 2006 my work was spotted by British band Keane which led to a collaboration on their second million selling album 'Under the Iron Sea.' London based creative agency, Big Active, art directed the campaign and at the same time took me on their books as one of their select number of represented artists. My client list includes; Universal Island Records, British Vogue, Apple/itunes, M&S and Marimekko. Alongside commissioned work I have my own company developing my brand of self-styled products.

I'm currently expanding my product range from limited edition prints on paper to printed textiles, wooden products and jewellery. I'm also working on my first children's picture book."

Sanna is most famous for his designs for the rock/indie band 'Keane'. He designed the album cover and album foldout for their 'Under The Iron Sea' album. He also designed and illustrated their 'Atlantic' Vinyl cover along with many other Keane albums and a special 'Lyric Book' for them.
One of my personal favourite projects of his is his Zune packaging, it's simple design is very effective, i mean i want one just for the box! The typeface is obviously sans-serif but has a very professional feel.
Sanna has a blog on his site, it is full of graphic tidbits and i definitely recommend it for curious designers (http://www.sanna-annukka.com/news/).
